How can we help?
What are the total, on hold, transferable, and reserve balances?
Last updated on June 16, 2026Your Omise account balance is divided into four categories:
- Total Balance
- On Hold
- Transferable Balance
- Reserve
Understanding these balance types will help you track your funds and know when they become available for withdrawal.
Total Balance
The total balance is the overall amount you have received from all transactions after deducting Omise service fees.
On Hold
The balance on hold is the amount that Omise, by default, retains for a certain period after a transaction is made. This provides a temporary safety window for any potential chargebacks or refunds that may occur. The holding period varies depending on your Omise account registered country:
- Thailand: Funds are kept on hold for 7 days.
- Japan: Funds are kept on hold for 21 days.
- Singapore: Funds are kept on hold for 1 day for card payments, PayNow, Mobile Banking, and 5 days for Alipay+.
- Malaysia: Funds are kept on hold for 3 days.
Transferable Balance
The transferable balance is the net amount that has successfully cleared the holding period and is fully available to be transferred directly to your connected bank account.
Reserve
The reserve balance is a specific risk management feature applied to merchant profiles with a higher risk of chargebacks or refunds. It works by reserving a certain percentage of the merchant's average balance over the last 6 months to safeguard against potential financial disputes.
