Why can't I log in after setting up two-factor authentication?
Last updated on October 16, 2026Why can't I log in after setting up two-factor authentication?
Once you enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account, the Omise dashboard requires both your password and a 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app to sign in. Most sign-in failures after setting up 2FA come from a missed step or an expired code.
Sign in to the Omise dashboard with 2FA
- Enter your email address and password.
- Select I have activated 2FA.
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app in the Authentication code field, then sign in.

Warning: After five failed sign-in attempts, the dashboard blocks sign-in for a short period. Check each detail before you try again.
Common causes of 2FA sign-in failures
- I have activated 2FA isn't selected. Your account has 2FA enabled, so the dashboard won't sign you in with your email address and password alone. Select I have activated 2FA and enter your authentication code.
- The code expired. Each code lasts 30 seconds. If the code is about to change, wait for the next one and enter it immediately.
- The code came from the wrong entry. If your authenticator app holds several accounts, use the code from the Omise entry for the email address with which you're signing in.
- Your mobile device's clock is out of sync. Authenticator codes are time-based, so an incorrect device clock produces codes the dashboard rejects. Set your device's date and time to update automatically.
- The email address or password is wrong. Double-check both before entering the code.
FAQ
My authentication code still doesn't work. What can I do? Sign in with one of the recovery codes you downloaded when you set up 2FA. Each recovery code works only once.
I've lost my phone or deleted the Omise entry from my authenticator app. How do I sign in? Use a recovery code, then set up 2FA again. If you don't have a recovery code, follow What to do if I lost the device I used to set up two-factor authentication? to regain access through Omise support.
I'm locked out after too many attempts. What now? Wait a short while before trying again. Use the checklist in Common causes of 2FA sign-in failures to avoid another lockout.
